I received a JVC DR-MV150B, which is a DVD/VCR Recorder Combo as a gift last Christmas, 2010.  I had also purchased one of these for a gift for my brother.  I have to say after experiencing problems with the VCR first where it began to eat my tapes and then not accept tapes inserted into the unit.  Then the DVD recorder/player not playing RW disks very well with distorted video.  I reported this to JVC and received a run around.  They kept on giving me repair locations and when you call these locations they no longer fix JVC products.  I wonder why???  Then after talking to JVC for the past 2 months and calling some 5 warranty centers.  JVC said that the unit was manufactured more than a year ago and without a receipt they can not do anything for me.  

NOW, if you want to purchase a device from JVC and when you have problems with it, and you will have problems with it and you will not be able to get it fixed and then get an excuse that it was manufactured way before you received it as a gift or purchased it then go ahead and do business with a worthless company.

In talking with the service centers, they would not tell me why they won't fix JVC but they did say that they do fix other brand named units.  It seems JVC does not have a good track record with the repair centers that fix electronic devices...

I will NEVER purchase another JVC product, even if they were giving them away.

You can make up your own mind about this but I do not recommend JVC.
